Jolly Phonics Rang Aoife agus Niamh

The children in Rang Aoife and Niamh are using their wonderful reading skills which they learnt as Gaeilge and transferring sounds from one language to the other as well as learning new sounds in English! They are wonderful transferers of skills and knowledge from one language to another, it is very impressive and a wonderful chance for them to revisit sounds common/similar in both languages and to embed their reading skills!

So far they have covered

Wk1: s; a;t;i;p

Wk 2: n; c/k; e; h;r

This week: m;d;g;o;u

Please spend time using these sounds -not letter sounds – with your children games such as I spy, snap, sounding out short words for them to spell, write or draw an illustration for, charades etc. Praise, praise, praise and if there are any difficulties inform us so we can support them at this exciting time of their reading adventure!
