100 Word Challenge – Week 14 – Brigid Catherine Caoimhe

Jim walked passed the old ship. It looked just as normal as any other old ship he had ever seen. Rusty, old, weathered, but most of all boring. You see, Jim worked as an “Old Thing Reviewer” (well that’s what he called it anyway). His job was to travel around the world checking to see whether ruins of ships, castles and other buildings were still safe to be there. Then he had to take a picture of them, write a review and give it to his boss. If the ruin was about to fall down, ugly, or in any way dangerous Jim’s boss would order a massive digger to knock it down.

“This one looks fine,” thought Jim. He made a tick on his clipboard, hopped into his car and drove away.

  2. What an interesting idea, Brigid! Would you use it as the start of a mystery story? Would you knock down a wreck of a ship or remove it or destroy it? Make sure every one of your 100 words is effective. Good writing, keep it up!
