100 Word Challenge-Week 13-Donnacha Killian

It was a cold Autumn night forty years ago. My friends and I were camping out in the woods.

We had heard some strange noises but thought nothing of them, but as the leaves rustled we knew we were not alone. Something was stalking us like an eagle watches it’s prey before striking with speed out of nowhere. We fell asleep all scared to death and in the morning our camp was destroyed.

I return to that place every year but can’t explain what happened that night forty years ago, it still puzzles me to this day.

  1. What a relief that you guys were safe, Donnacha. It is certainly a spooky incident. You are very brave to keep going back in an attempt to unravel the mystery.

    Keep writing.

I liked the way you said that something was watching you like an eagle watching it’s prey.
    What was watching you?
